Does hypnotherapy really work? This is a question I get asked by many people when I tell them that I’m a clinical hypnotherapist. Along with, ‘will I be in control?’, ‘will I be asleep or unconscious?’, and ‘will you make me cluck like a chicken?’, ‘dance around the room’, these are the most common questions people have.

Hypnotherapy is a client-centred approach, embracing all aspects of a person’s mental and physical well-being, with its focus on the discovery of the person’s original issues or problems. Through the process of hypnotherapy, the unconscious mind is able to access the source of the problem, giving you the opportunity to process your original feelings concerning that experience or cause.

Hypnotherapy has been proven to be an effective medium; in fact its origins lie in identifying and combining the techniques with the highest clinical success rates. Hypnotherapy usually requires just a few sessions and works more quickly than traditional talk-therapy or psychoanalysis.

Hypnosis facts:
Hypnotherapy uses a natural state of the mind located between wakefulness and sleep. For example, daydreaming while watching TV, or driving a familiar route without being conscious of every turn you make, is similar to a hypnotic state. Hypnotherapy allows you to access your subconscious mind, which makes up 90% of your brain, and stores all memory.
